The Essentials of Project Management Program is geared for project managers, team leaders, and executives of all skills and levels that require a competitive edge to outperform and deliver better projects. It applies the formal and pragmatic methodologies used by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to guide practitioners meet the demands of any project across the globe using world-class standards and best practices. The course covers the internationally-accepted nomenclature that not only helps practitioners deal with international projects, but also with the diverse makeup of the modern enterprise. Program DescriptionThe course mimics the life cycle of a project, encouraging student-teacher interaction. Topics discussed during this course are divided into the five main Project Management Process Groups to help drive the PMI's processes within the nine knowledge areas. The course starts by examining the fundamental concepts and methodologies of project management. The project life cycle is broken into its basic elements and tools are used to elicit requirements during project initiation needed to create a Statement of Work (SOW). Additional concepts in project planning include the work breakdown structure, scheduling, milestones, resource allocation, risks tracking, procurement concepts, managing quality, human resources management, and communication essentials. Then students will integrate all the concepts and tools to successfully monitor and control the project, ending with the proper process to close a project. Learning OutcomesAfter completing the program, participants will: understand the fundamental concepts and methodologies of project management, and understand and use the methods and templates that aid project management.
