Guidelines for Future Capstone Request When Dates Have Not Been Posted

In the event that a student makes a request for a capstone that they cannot participate in and there are no other dates available the student will need to submit a new request when the dates are available via HSPortal.

For example a student submits a capstone request for PUB 5402 that states the following:

Preferred Capstone Dates:

• First Choice: March 9, 2008 – March 13, 2008
• Second Choice: March 18, 2009 thru March 22, 2009

If both of your choices are full, would you like us to put you in the next available capstone? Yes

Dates for future capstones have not been posted for the summer term, therefore the student would need to be notified by their advisor that when the dates are available via HSPortal a new request will need to be submitted.

Students may not submit a request and check to have themselves wait listed for a capstone for which no dates are available. This will create a wait list for the wait list of capstones.

Do not hold onto the students request hoping to get them into a capstone. When dates are posted a new request must be submitted by the student when dates become available for selection.
