Students will no longer be able to adjust schedules (drop/add) after the start of the term without financial penalty. Specifically, those students who want to drop a course that has already begun (most typically an online course) and add the exact same course in a format that has not yet begun (ex. Sequence I) will be held to the existing refund policies for the dropped course.
If a student asks why (s)he has to pay the 25% for the dropped class, you can inform him/her that (s)he took a seat in a class that another student could have had. Please make sure to engage the student in a discussion about effective planning and decision-making.
