Processing Drop Request: Master's Financial Aid Implications

ACTIVE

Effective Start Date: 05/04/2010 End Date: Current

If a student wishes to drop a prerequisite course due to lack of financial aid funds, you may process the request at 100% if the following conditions are met:

  1. Student is only taking prerequisites. The student is not concurrently enrolled in credit-bearing, core courses.
  2. Student has history of being a financial aid recipient.
  3. Advisor will work with manager to process XD (retroactive drop with attendance) or DD (retroactive drop with no attendance) as appropriate, and will not require a Request for Exception to Policy (REP) to be processed.

If a drop was already processed for a student at a partial refund (ex. 50%), and the student wishes to request a full refund and meets the criteria above, the advisor should complete an REP and approve the 100% if the student verifies the conditions above.
