Student Code of Conduct

1. If the receptionist encounters a student demonstrating inappropriate behavior (as outlined in the conduct guidelines given in training), she will report the incident to the advisor. The incident may be minor or major. For example, “Joe Smith told me to pipe down” or “Sarah Jones called me incompetent”. Advisors, please be prepared for these reports.
2. Advisors: when you speak with the students, address the incident appropriately, as assessed by you. For example, you may conduct your business with the student and say, “By the way, our receptionist told me that you told her to pipe down. I would ask that you treat her and me with respect, and we’ll do the same for you.”
