Discount for Cancelled Courses

ACTIVE

Effective Start Date 08/06/2010 End Date:Current

When the program office (PO) makes a decision to cancel a course(s) at an off campus location or cluster the students that are currently registered in the cancelled course are given the opportunity to register for the cancelled ground course online, but receive the ground price. This requires a special rate code or scholarship/discount to be applied to the students record.

Only students registered in the cancelled course are eligible for the scholarship/discount. If a student from the same location never registered (which may be why the class was cancelled), and takes the same class online they are not eligible for the discount.

Please see the following examples:

Scenario 1 Student is registered for 5070 and it is cancelled in Tampa. PO decides to allow the 3 students that are registered for it to take 5070 online instead but get the ground price. (they are approved).

Scenario 2 Student in Tampa has not registered at all. The class the student was planning on taking is cancelled and they take 5070 online. They are not eligible for the discount because they were never registered officially in the ground class that was cancelled.

Scenario 3 Student in Tampa is registered for 5070 and it is cancelled. Student decides to take 5090 online instead of 5070 they are not eligible for the discount because they took an online class that was not cancelled nor were they previously registered for it.

Because a ground class is cancelled and the student is forced online please make sure to request an override from PO if the online version is full.
