Master's Academic Standing

ACTIVE

Effective Start Date: 10/01/2010 End Date:Current

A new pre-requisite academic standing policy for the MACC and TAXX programs on page 34 of the new catalog.

“MACC and MTAX students: Students who receive any two grades of F in prerequisite courses will automatically be suspended for 1 year.”

Since we do not have a reporting system programmed to show said pre-requisites, at this moment we depend on your expertise to identify those students who earned a second F.

As you come across these cases please email me the Associate Director of Student Sucess so a suspension code is entered in Banner and add notes in SPACMNT.

The D, F, W report may assist you in completing this task.

A letters is sent to students that have been suspended.

Effective Start Date: End Date:Current

Students that are in probationary status, who wish to change majors (possible reasons: discovered that they may not like the program or feel that their talents may be better suited for another major), may do so without having to get off probation, as long as the change is not to MACC or TAXX. See the 2B probation roll out document excerpt below:

Changing Programs: Students who have 3 grades below a B: Students on probation (except MACC and MTAX) may change programs. However, students who wish to change their program to either MACC or MTAX must be in good academic standing before changing.

Please understand that regardless of the major change, during their tenure in the school of business, students cannot be on probation more than once. This change does not constitute a clean slate; if the student earns another grade below a B or the GPA goes below 3.0, she/he will be suspended.
