Undergraduate Accounting Major and Minor ACTIVE
Effective Start Date: End Date:
Accounting Major or Minor Student: Please be advised effective Winter 2009 (200930) students must earn a C or higher in any class that is a prerequisite to any upper division accounting classes you will be taking as part of the accounting minor or major program. All students pursuing a major or minor in accounting earning a C- or lower in these prerequisites will not be allowed to enroll in the upper division classes and students must also earn a C or higher in all accounting upper level classes in order to graduate. 1. ACT 3030 Cost Management 2. ACT 3050 Intermediate Accounting I 3. ACT 3060 Intermediate Accounting II 4. ACT 3070 Intermediate Accounting III 5. TXX 3110 Federal Taxation I 6. ACT 4010 Advanced Accounting 7. ACT 4050 Accounting Information Systems 8. ACT 4210 Auditing The rationale for this change is students are earning in some cases D grades for courses, but that is not really preparing them for the next step. For example, a D in ACT 3050 gives the student barely any knowledge which would likely result in the student doing worse in 3060.
